2010-11 Winter Wrap-up
May weekend of the 13, 14, 15; of May “Chatarra went off again”, my favorite place to get long hollow barrels and spits.
2011 Hurricane season opened the wave ridding window in my Island. After those perfect barrels at the end of May 2011, August got this place firing waves in full force. The north shore was the place to be. Waves like Hallows among others were doing there dance. I stayed ridding my local and closest spots like Aviones, and even Chatarra was ridden instead of her left side to her right, very rare. Then a very good vibration started to get momentum. The IBA world tour stopped in November for the first time here in this island, and fortunately, a very nice swell rolled on the west coast. It wasn’t the most wanted swell angle, but it got everyone stoked and ridding other insane spots like Survival. I stayed home to ride Chatarra spot for a whole week, something it has never happened to me. I saw Mike Stewart and Pierre Luis Costes there getting barrels and airs. On particular day it got off shore winds with twelve foot faces. UFF… will be posting some of those shots soon. Season 2011-2012 is here.
